Spelt With a C.... Salutes.... Erykah Badu!

Whilst surfing the net, I stumbled across this picture of Erykah Badu:

Loving the ear-cuff!

And it got me thinking.... Is there no style that this chameleon HASN’T tried?!?!


Now we all remember the foray when it was revealed way back in the 90’s that underneath Badu’s trademark headwrap....

...were not in actually fact natural flowing locs, but actually artificial hair or as I like to call them 'Duppy Dreads'! “No! It can’t be so!” We cried in dismay-but it was true.... and we forgave her. I mean she gave us ‘On & On’, ‘Tyrone’ etc.

Then she wore da ‘fro! "Yep! She natural, she natural" we smiled....


Hair ENVY to the FULLEST... Even if it is fake!

Until..... “Say it ain’t so!” She rips it off.... on stage....

Awww Badu! But... we had 1 saving grace. No Lye-No lie! Under the wig she was a natural after all!!
Everyone gotta love them some Badu. Her lyrics are clever, witty and timeless. Erykah Badu is a true Chameleon!
After all is said and done, so many of us wear weaves, extensions, canerows etc to 'give our hair a rest'. So why did we judge Ms Badu? Was it that she 'claimed' her hair was real? To be honest I can't find any reports on the net that pertain to this? So was it that 'we' were dissappointed? Whatever it is/was, it just goes to show..... it's only hair!
